UP: How will the seat sharing issue be resolved in NDA? Anupriya Patel’s party claims 5 seats – lok sabha elections 2024

As the Lok Sabha elections are coming closer, the claim of seats in the alliance has also started. Omprakash Rajbhar-led Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (Subhaspa) has sought three Lok Sabha seats in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Now another major constituent Apna Dal (S) has also staked claim on five seats.

According to sources, Apna Dal S has also demanded Mirzapur, Pratapgarh, Ambedkar Nagar, Fatehpur and Jalaun seats. Two of these seats, Mirzapur and Pratapgarh, are already with Apna Dal (S). In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BJP had fielded candidates on Ambedkar Nagar, Fatehpur and Jalaun seats. This time Apna Dal (S) has also staked claim on these three seats.

According to the information, in the NDA meeting before the Lok Sabha elections, the allies also talked about the seats. It is said that there was a discussion about the seats in the NDA meeting. Claiming more seats, Anupriya Patel, chief of BJP’s ally Apna Dal S in UP, which has 80 Lok Sabha seats, said that the number of MLAs should be taken care of.

Apna Dal got 2 seats in 2014 and 2019

In the year 2014, Samyukta Apna Dal joined the NDA and entered the election field. Apna Dal then fielded candidates from two seats, Mirzapur and Pratapgarh. Anupriya Patel from Mirzapur and Harivansh Singh from Pratapgarh were successful in reaching the Lok Sabha. In 2016, after a dispute with mother Krishna Patel and elder sister Pallavi Patel, Anupriya formed a separate party named Apna Dal Sonelal. Apna Dal S also fought the 2019 Lok Sabha elections together with the BJP.

Mirzapur and Sonbhadra seats came in the share of Apna Dal (S) in 2019. Anupriya Patel reached the Lok Sabha for the second consecutive time from Mirzapur seat. Pakaudilal Kol from Sonbhadra was also successful in reaching Parliament on Apna Dal (S) ticket. Anupriya, who is trying to expand Apna Dal (S), wants to increase the quota of the party, which has been stuck on two seats since the last two elections. Anupriya has also demanded to change Sonbhadra seat.

Subhaspa is demanding three seats

Omprakash Rajbhar’s Subhaspa is seeking three seats along with the Ghazipur Lok Sabha seat. Subhaspa has six MLAs. In such a situation, while demanding five seats, Anupriya talked about taking care of the number of MLAs. It is clear from Anupriya’s statement that if Subhaspa with six seats is given two or three seats, then Apna Dal (S) should also be given seats in the same proportion.

No statement has come from BJP

On the one hand, where the BJP is engaged in increasing the clan of the alliance, on the other hand, the tussle regarding the seats is also increasing. Subhaspa is already asking for three seats, Nishad Party is also asking for two seats. Now Apna Dal (S) has also staked claim on five seats. If we see on this basis, then BJP will get 70 seats to contest elections, which will be acceptable to the leaders of the party? In such a situation, it has to be seen how the issue of seat sharing in UP gets resolved.

BJP has set a target of winning all the seats

The BJP has set a target of winning all the 80 seats in UP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. For this, the party is adding new allies to the alliance. Along with this, an exercise is also going on to bring together the old alliance partners who had parted ways with the NDA for some reason in between.
