There is a relief news for the people troubled by the skyrocketing prices of tomatoes. Tomato prices are going to decrease further in the retail market. The government has made special arrangements for this. After this, now people will be able to buy tomatoes cheaply.

Benefits available in Delhi-NCR

In order to give relief to the people, Central Government agencies NAFED and NCCF are selling tomatoes at cheap rates in some cities of the country. On Wednesday morning, Consumer Affairs Secretary Rohit Kumar Singh released a list of places where tomatoes are being made available at a subsidized rate by the central government. He told that tomatoes can be bought at cheap rates at many places in Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad.

Price reached Rs 250

The government has started this system for the last few days. Under this, people are being given the benefit of cheap tomatoes through mobile vans. The government was providing tomatoes at the rate of Rs 90 per kg to the people in these places. It is much cheaper than the normal market rate. In the general retail market, the price of tomatoes had reached Rs 250 per kg.

Now the government has announced to make the tomatoes available at subsidized rates even cheaper. Under this, now people can buy tomatoes for just Rs.70 per kg. From Friday of last week till today, Wednesday, 19th July, the government made tomatoes available at the rate of Rs.90 per kg. Now from tomorrow i.e. from Thursday 20th July you can buy it at the rate of Rs.70 per kg.

As per the information given by the Secretary, today the subsidized tomatoes were available at these places:

Faridabad: South College Sector 16A
Gurugram: Mahavir Chowk and Sohna Chowk
Delhi: AU Block in Shalimar Bagh, City Park and District Park in Pitampura, Computer Market in Wazirpur, Industrial Area B Block in Lawrence Road, Gur Mandi in Rana Pratap Bagh, Near Bus Stand in Bakhtawarpur, Metro Station in Kingsway Camp, Japanese Park in Rohini, Near Main Gate in Delhi Secretariat, H Block Lal Market in Vikaspuri, Block A in New Friends Colony, Bihari Colony in Shahdara, East End Apartment/Metro Station in New Ashok Nagar, Sector 7 in Dwarka, Sector 6 in Rohini, Khirki in Malviya Nagar, Maitri Apartment in Paschim Vihar, Vishal Bhavan in Nehru Place, B-19 Industrial Area in Okhla, NCUI Complex in Hauz Khas
