Attacks In Pakistan: Terrorist incidents have increased in Pakistan, which is going through an economic crisis. Only in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan, 665 terrorist attacks took place between 18 June 2022 and 18 June 2023. This information has been given by The Dawn quoting the state police.
According to The Dawn report, 15 suicide attacks were among the 665 terror attacks. A report by the province’s counter-terrorism department revealed that 140 terror incidents took place in North Waziristan (tribal district) alone. In which eight suicide bombings took place. At the same time, 37 IED blasts, three hand grenade blasts, five rocket attacks and 85 fire incidents are included.
Increased incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Citing a police list, a copy of which is available with Dawn, the newspaper said in its report that there were 81 terror attacks in Dera Ismail Khan district, including 70 firing incidents, seven IED blasts, two grenade blasts, one suicide and one rocket attack.
According to the report, 56 terrorist incidents took place in Peshawar district between June 18, 2022 and June 18, 2023, in which 19 firings took place, 25 times terrorists threw grenades. Along with this, incidents like IED blast were carried out a total of eight times. A suicide and a rocket attack occurred during this period. At the same time, 55 terrorist activities took place in Bajaur tribal district.
Pakistan has warned Afghanistan
According to reports, terrorists carried out 48 attacks in Khyber and Lakki Marwat districts. Also, 39 incidents of militancy were registered in Tank district. There were 38 terrorist incidents in Bannu district during this period. At the same time, incidents related to terror were less in Kohat district than in other districts.
There were 21 terrorist attacks here between 18 June 2022 and 18 June 2023. It is noteworthy that as the elections are coming near in the neighboring country, terrorist incidents are increasing. For this, the Government of Pakistan has warned Afghanistan against giving shelter to TTP.
