Sudan Civil War Agree to Ceasefire on Eid: Fighting has been going on in Sudan since April 15 between the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the regular army to capture the country. During this, more than 300 people have died so far. About 2000 people have also been seriously injured. Meanwhile, RSF has announced a 72-hour ceasefire on humanitarian grounds from 6 am on Friday (April 21). This decision was taken because of Eid.

Sudan’s capital Khartoum has been shaken by heavy shelling and firing from both the armies. However, till now no comment has been made by the regular army of the country regarding the ceasefire of 3 days. Sudan’s army chief, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, did not mention the ceasefire in a pre-recorded speech posted on the army’s Facebook page.

There is a coup in Sudan after two years
Sudan’s paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) issued a statement saying that the festival of Eid is coming amidst the ongoing fighting between us. During this, citizens should be given a chance to celebrate the festival and congratulate their family members. Fighting between the RSF and the army began on Saturday.

There has been a coup after two years in Sudan. After this, the fight between the RSF and the Regular Army has reached its peak to make a hold.

350 killed amid ongoing fighting in Sudan
At least 350 people have been killed in a power struggle between two former allies of the ruling military junta, army chief Burhan and RSF leader General Mohammad Hamdan Dagalo. The recent conflict in Sudan has dashed the hopes of progress towards democracy in the country.

At the same time, in the midst of this deadly fight, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres appealed for a ceasefire on Thursday to allow civilians to reach safety. A group of doctors said that at least 26 people were killed and 33 wounded in Al-Obeid, west of Khartoum, on Thursday (20 April).
