Mamata Banerjee furious over Manipur violence now BJP slogan is beti jalao ntc

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee lashed out at the BJP over the incident in Manipur, the early release of the convicts in the Bilkis Bano case and the bail granted to Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. At Trinamool Congress’ Martyr’s Day rally in Kolkata, Mamata Banerjee said that BJP’s ‘Beti Bachao’ slogan has turned into ‘Beti Jalao’.

The TMC chief said that you (BJP) had given the slogan ‘Beti Bachao’. Where is your slogan now? Today Manipur is burning, the whole country is burning. The honor of our women is being tarnished but women will throw you out of the country in the upcoming elections.

Mamta Banerjee also protested against the early release of all the 11 convicts who were sentenced to life imprisonment in the Bilkis Bano case that took place after the Godhra carnage in 2002. He was released in 2022 under the exemption policy of the Gujarat government. On the other hand, BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh got bail on Thursday itself on charges of sexual harassment.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata expressed her condolences to the people of Manipur and said that we want to assure every Manipuri that we stand by them, and we will stand by them at all times. The atrocities we are witnessing in Manipur are condemnable in the strictest terms.

Mamta said that her party is not hungry for power. All we want is that the BJP should be thrown out of power. At the same time, TMC general secretary Abhishek Banerjee said that the party will hold a massive protest in Delhi on October 2, Gandhi Jayanti, to protest against the central government stopping funds for MNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) and other schemes in West Bengal. Expressing confidence in the newly formed opposition alliance, he said that it would form the government in 2024.
