A case of alleged religious conversion has come to light in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. A Dalit girl alleges that the young man befriended her by changing her name through social media. After this, she was raped and forced to have an abortion. Not only this, after this the pressure for conversion started building. At present, the police have arrested the accused.

According to the girl’s complaint, three years ago she came in contact with a young man named Deepak Chaudhary through social media. He had described himself as a journalist of a channel. Then both of them started talking and became friends. After this, both started living together in September 2022.

‘Forced conversion’

The victim told that when she became pregnant, the young man got her aborted. After this, the pressure of religion change was created and forced conversion was also done. This story of torture did not stop here, he forced to eat beef and beat him for refusing.

The accused confessed the crime

According to the police, in September 2022, a Dalit girl living with accused Khalid Chaudhary was forced to undergo an abortion. Chowdhary was arrested on Saturday night and during interrogation he confessed to his crime.

DCP Nipun Agarwal’s statement

In the case, DCP Nipun Aggarwal said that on the complaint of the girl, an FIR was registered at Vijay Nagar police station. In this, relevant sections of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and the Prohibition of Unlawful Religious Conversion Act have been imposed.
