Traveling by train in the country is considered to be the most economical and easy way. Lakhs of people travel from one corner of the country to the other every day. At the same time, every section travels by rail, but people traveling by general coach have to face a lot of problems in food and drink. In view of this, now Western Railway has started the facility of affordable food and packaged water at Mumbai Central, Rajkot, Surendranagar and Chittorgarh stations for people traveling in second class.

Western Railway has started providing cheap food and water for passengers traveling on general class tickets. Under this new campaign, a counter has been set up in front of the second class coach and food, snacks, combo meals are being made available to the passengers at low prices. The food available at this counter will be given to the people only from IRCTC refreshment room and Jan Ahaar.

Puri-Vegetable and Pickle for Rs.20
The food available at these counters is divided into two categories. In type one, seven ‘poodis’ will be given with dry potatoes and pickle for Rs 20. Whereas, the cost of food in Type 2 will be Rs 50 and passengers will get to eat dishes like rice, rajma, chole, khichdi, kulche, bhatura, pav-bhaji and masala dosa.

The location of these counters has been decided by the railway zone as to where to place these counters at the station. For now, this facility has been started at 51 stations in the country. At the same time, this facility will be started at 13 more stations from tomorrow. 200 ml water bottle will also be made available soon at the counters. Please tell, the cost of this 200 ml water bottle will be three rupees.
