Why only one song of Geeta Dutt?
Vasant Prakash started work as music director for this film, but he died after recording only one song with Geeta Dutt. After this, this responsibility was taken up by C. Ramachandra and he was associated with the film as a composer. However, he also put a condition that all the songs of this film would be sung by Lata Mangeshkar and also Geeta Dutt’s song would be removed from the film. Ramchandra’s talk was accepted by the people of Filmistan (Production House), but after the release Geeta Dutt’s song ‘Aa Jaane Wafa’ remained in the film and the audience liked it very much.

Kamal Amrohi’s film Dibbed
S. Even before Mukherjee (producer) started the film Anarkali, K. Asif had started Mughal-e-Azam, but it was getting delayed. On the other hand, Kamal Amrohi started the film with Meena Kumari with the same subject. However, later Kamal Amrohi’s film got shelved and he joined K. Asif’s Mughal-e-Azam as a writer. Shammi Kapoor was offered ‘Anarkali’
The film Anarkali was first offered to Shammi Kapoor but things didn’t work out for some reason and he walked out of the film.
