(Reuters) – US-based investment firm Bain Capital on Sunday said it has entered into an agreement to acquire Adani Capital and Adani Housing’s 90% stake by buying out all of the Adani family’s personal investments in the company.

Ben said, Gaurav Gupta will retain the remaining 10% stake in Adani Capital and will continue to serve as its Managing Director and CEO.

The investment firm has pledged an additional liquidity line of $120 million to Adani Capital and $50 million in the form of non-convertible debentures.

Adani Capital, a non-banking financial arm of the Adani Group, started its lending operations in 2017.

The transaction, which is expected to complete in the fourth quarter of this year, aims to establish Adani Capital as a standalone company to expand lending, Ben said.

Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani said, “I am very happy that a trusted investor like Ben is now stepping in and will help the business grow manifold.”
